Young Walsall actors prepare a fairytale treat
Date Published : 20 May 2009
A musical treat based on Hans Christian Andersen’s 'The Ugly Duckling' is coming to Forest Arts Centre courtesy of the talented actors from Walsall Youth Theatre.
Honk Jr tells the story of Ugly the duckling who is anything but ordinary and is being staged by eight to 19-year-olds.
Despite being mocked on the farmyard, pursued relentlessly by the ever-hungry cat and ending up lost on a marsh in a duck shoot, a happy ending is just around the corner – via some fabulous adventures.
Simon Pugh, Youth Theatre director, said "The Youth Theatre Group is a really talented bunch of actors who have been rehearsing hard to stage this fantastic show. It is suitable for all the family and will have the audience singing, clapping and cheering in equal measure".
Performances at the centre in Hawbush Lane, Leamore, will take place on:
- Friday 29 May 2009 at 2.30pm and 7.15pm; and
- Saturday 30 May 2009 at 2.30pm and 5.30pm
Tickets cost £5 and can be obtained by calling the Box Office on 0845 111 2900.
