Advocacy

Advocacy is about speaking up and being heard.

  • Self-advocacy – is encouraging people to speak up for themselves and representing their own interests.
  • Citizen advocacy – is ordinary people developing one to one relationships with people with a learning disability so they can speak up for and represent their interests.

It is your right to be heard. One way of having more choice and control is speaking up for yourself and being heard or having someone to support you to do this.
