About us
What do we want to do? – Our vision
To make growing up in Walsall as good as it can be
How will we do this? – Our mission
To ensure all children and young people achieve the best possible levels of education, health and development, and to support those who are most vulnerable. We will encourage children and young people to build on their achievements, to develop and improve their confidence, resilience and self-esteem, to participate in their communities and achieve economic well-being. Our service delivery model will integrate services in localities through children's centres, extended schools and other appropriate venues, focusing on providing early, multi-agency support to families. We will safeguard children by early recognition of risks and the provision of local support with specialist intervention when needed.
Every Child Matters
Every Child Matters is the name for the Government’s programme to make sure that all children are given the chance to succeed in life. They have named five areas of children’s lives to focus on:
- Being healthy
- Staying safe
- Enjoying and achieving
- Making a positive contribution
- Achieving economic well-being
Everything we do in children and young people's services relates to one or more of these outcomes.
Reviews, reports and inspections
All local authorities get reviewed and inspected on a regular basis make sure that they are helping all children and young people to achieve these outcomes. Various reports are written to explain how we are doing and anything that we may need to do to improve. The results of some of these reports are below.
