Library books on mp3

Central Library

Walsall Library users can now take advantage of a new service from Central Library.

The Lichfield Street venue has in its collection a number of books in mp3 format, most commonly used with iPods, mp3 players and computers. The new service will no doubt benefit visually impaired users and those who like to listen to their iPod on the move.

Our brand new range includes many bestselling authors. It costs just £1 to hire a book on mp3 for four weeks (50p concessions).

And library users who begin using this new service can enter a prize draw to win your own mp3 player!

Kim Bayley, community librarian at Central Library said: "More and more people are listening to music and digital audio through their mp3 player so this service will no doubt benefit those who are already accustomed to the digital age.

"Listening to your favourite book on mp3 has many advantages. Visually impaired people will greatly appreciate this new service but also those who will be holidaying in the summer months and beyond. So instead of squeezing that John Grisham thriller or Helen Fielding Chick Lit into your suitcase, you can listen to some amazing books via your mp3 player."
