Houses in multiple occupation strategy
Walsall’s Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) Strategy forms part of the wider Private Sector Housing Renewal Strategy 2005-2008. It aims to provide a framework to improve the quality of shared accommodation in the private rented sector.
Access to good quality private rented housing is vital in improving the quality of life for people in Walsall who cannot afford to buy on the open market or who need good quality rented accommodation to satisfy a temporary need.
The development and implementation of this strategy demonstrates the council’s continued commitment to improving private rented sector housing in Walsall.
