Walsall Ecohouse Open Day
Saturday 21 February 2009
35 Gorway Road, Walsall, WS1 3BE
10.20am to 6.00pm
Energy Tours will last 40 minutes each. You will be able to discuss energy saving in general, with particular interest in insulating solid walls (houses built before 1935ish).
To book a place and to obtain directions telephone West Midlands Energy Saving Trust on 0800 512 0125.
The house was named “Walsall Ecohouse” after the Normanton's reduced their heating CO2 emissions by 70%, despite having solid walls.
The Normanton's along with their house are now part of the “Old Home Superhome Alliance” which has a number of exemplars around the country of existing homes which have been improved to reduce their CO2 emissions by 60% or more. www.sustainable-energyacademy.org.uk
