Development of Sustainable Schools - Energy

The eight doorways to sustainability

  1. Food and drink
  2. Energy and water
  3. Travel and traffic
  4. Purchasing and waste
  5. Buildings and grounds
  6. Inclusion and participation
  7. Local well-being
  8. Global dimension

A project for all key stages investigating how to reduce energy consumption by making pupils and staff aware of the impact of lighting, heating and electrical appliances in schools.

The rising demand for energy and water across the planet is storing up problems for future generations.

Saving energy saves money and helps combat climate change and helps schools reduce their environmental impact. It is a quick, affordable and effective way to make a difference to our lives

The project lists

  • ideas for schools, pupils, staff and the wider community to help reduce energy consumption
  • resources
  • benefits
