Date Published : 06 January 2009
Parents and carers are being advised that Palfrey Infants School will be affected by a partial closure tomorrow (Wednesday January 7) due to heating problems.
The school, in Bescot Street, has been partially open today but currently only has adequate heating in one classroom.
To ensure the health and wellbeing of its pupils the school will be closing its nursery tomorrow.
Year 2 pupils will be able to attend school in the morning and Year 1 pupils and Reception pupils will be able to attend in the afternoon.
Avril Walton, assistant managing director of Walsall Children’s Services – Serco, said: “We apologise to parents and carers for any disruption this may cause but the pupils’ wellbeing is of paramount importance to use in such freezing temperatures.
“Engineers are working to remedy the heating problem and we anticipate the school’s closure being for one day only.”
