Fantastic response to borough business needs survey
Date Published : 18 December 2008
Regeneration chiefs at Walsall Council today thanked 629 borough businesses for taking the time to fill in an important survey.
From cake emporiums to steel manufacturers – the Business Needs Survey was sent out in September to every single concern in Walsall to gain vital feedback of the issues affecting them.
Councillor Adrian Andrew, Walsall Council cabinet member for regeneration, said: “I'd like to thank all those who have taken the time to complete their questionnaires, particularly during such trying economic times nationally.
“Their views are important to us as they are the ones trying to make a living day after day and contribute towards the future of Walsall.
“The surveys are aimed at giving people the opportunity to spell out their needs to the council which can then investigate avenues of support available. This could be in a financial or a practical sense.
“We will now devote time to going through all of the surveys to see which issues emerge while examining any suggestions that have been made for how we can continue to work in partnership to bring about improvements.”
Every completed survey has resulted in a £1 donation to the Mayor of Walsall’s chosen charities which are Golden Wishes and Walsall Hospice.
The Mayor, Councillor Tom Ansell, said: “I would like to add my thanks to all those who have played a part in this.
“I am a firm supporter of our businesses in Walsall and am delighted that so many seized the chance to make their views count.”
