Come and Question Your Service Providers
Date Published : 09 December 2008
Safer Walsall Partnership is inviting the communities of Bloxwich and Blakenall to an event where they can directly ask chief officers from the partnership board any questions they have about community safety, crime or anti social behaviour.
Safer Walsall Partnership (SWP) has responsibility to improve community safety and reassurance, reduce crime and anti social behaviour, alcohol and substance misuse and environmental crime in the borough.
The Board is made up of Chief Officers from the Council, Police, Fire Service, Probation Service, Walsall NHS, Walsall Housing Group, New Deal for Communities, Chamber of Commerce and Education Walsall.
The event will take place on Wednesday January 21 from 5pm – 7.30pm at the Forest Arts Centre, Hawbush Road, Leamore.
Question forms returned by the deadline of December 17 will be entered into a prize draw to win a hamper of community security products worth over £150.
Every attendee on the night will also receive a free security product with the compliments of the Safer Walsall Partnership
This is the first of a series of events to be held by the partnership over the coming months. There will eventually be an event held in every LNP area and SWP officers are working closely with the LNP team to make this event a real success. These events are an important means for the partnership to engage with the communities that make up Walsall and to pass information about community safety services to them.
There will also be a number of displays and information stalls about services that operate in the area. The event will also provide a way for the partnership to let communities know about the good work that is being undertaken and embed the message that overall crime in Walsall is falling.
Over the last three years total crime has fallen by 18 per cent.
For further information about this event or to book a place or submit a question please contact the Community Safety Team on 01922 611400 or alternatively download the event flyer.
SWP works in partnership with public, private and voluntary sector organisations to coordinate services and programmes to reduce crime, anti social behaviour, substance misuse and environmental crime and to improve community safety and community reassurance across the borough.
