Budget Consultation - Financial Year 2009/10
During September 2008 1,148 face to face interviews were conducted across the borough. The results from these interviews (893kb PDF) are now being used to help inform the council's budget for the financial year 2009/10. Professional interviewers from Government and Social Research Agency ICM, who were contracted by the council to undertake the research, worked throughout the borough to collect and record the views of local people. Interviews took about 10 minutes each to complete.
Also during September we held focus group discussions with the Over 50's Forum, Youth Opinions Unite, Service Users Empowerment, Making Our Choice, the Disability Forum and local voluntary and community organisations.
An online budget consultation questionnaire was also run on the council's website.
Briefing papers (41kb PDF) were sent to LNPs to consider and invite feedback and comment. Finance officers attended LNP meeitngs on a request basis.

An online survey was sent to businesses across the borough and residents could email their comments to budgetconsultation@walsall.gov.uk or write to us at the address below.
Findings from budget consultation have been summarised in a report which was submitted to cabinet for consideration on December 17 (PDF 689KB).
