District Centre Management Team
Walsall Council is committed to creating competitive and vibrant centres for those people who live, work and visit the borough and it has pledged to support its key district centres in order to help communications with existing and new businesses.
The District Centres Manager supports the management and development of Aldridge, Bloxwich, Brownhills, Darlaston and Willenhall district centres. The role predominately focuses on developing a town centre management style approach in each centre.
The District Centres Manager has introduced a Town Centre Management or similar to 5 Districts, being Aldridge, Brownhills, Bloxwich, Darlaston and Willenhall. These Partnerships act as key contacts in the redevelopment and regeneration of the districts and support the sustainability of each District.
Each partnership is made up of retailers, businesses, LNPs, representatives of Walsall Council, West Midlands Police, local Councillors and Community Action Groups. These are open meetings and anyone with a real interest in each of the Districts may attend
Each Partnership is currently developing individual action plans to incorporate initiatives that may include transport proposals, environmental improvements, crime reduction projects, promotions and marketing and events.
Each group contributes to sustaining the retail economy and focuses on ensuring that the businesses, people and visitors in the Districts enter a safe, vibrant and friendly place.
If you would like to get involved in the business partnerships in your area please click on the link for the centre to find out where and when the group next meets. Alternatively download and complete our District Centre Audit form and return.
